As a Matter of Fruta -
Top Banana / StrawbleedTop Banana: H40 x W20cm, Strawbleed: W36 x H18cm
Cotton, Silk Kimono Swatches, Copper, Vitreous EnamelTop Banana £220, Strawbleed £250
This small installation explores the concept of outwardness through two contrasting fruits:
Strawberry: Despite its outwardly luxurious and alluring beauty, the strawberry is paradoxically one of the most pesticide-contaminated raw foods.
Banana: The artist views the banana as a metaphor for human beings. Peeling away the outer skin reveals our true selves. The inner color chart can be altered to represent different aspects of human nature.

Midday Landscape

Canvas, Oil£1200
Inspired by the landscapes of a searing desert climate, I created these works directly from life, immersed in the moment. Under the intense midday sun, where the relentless heat blurs human figures and natural scenes alike, forms dissolve and meld into one under the blaze of the unyielding light.

Phantom Bloom
H30 x W30 cm
Hardcover Book - 100 pages
Inkjet silk-matt (Inapa Galaxi Art Samt 170g)£160
This book is the result of a 5 week journey through Tokyo and wider Japan. It’s an attempt to give form to the incremental process of understanding a foreign culture and context. When fresh eyes, initially entertained merely by the exotic, gradually shift towards a wider view of finding shared and common truths.
The title ‘Phantom Bloom‘ is derived from the Japanese word ‘kuruizaki’, which describes the phenomenon of a flower or plant randomly blooming out of season. This chaotic act of individualism becomes an apt metaphor for the many contradictions in Japanese culture that I found, where the role of the individual is given a deep purpose by society but is also equally suppressed by it. Where heavy societal expectations, rigid structures and tradition seem to fuel both madness... and beauty.

Lichen
W20 x H30 cm
Acrylic and modeling paste£600
In my practice I use of modelling paste mixed with color as a pictorial material, serving simultaneously as both support and form, as background and figure, through a process of layering, folding, and kneading. This entire process equates a way of thinking with the hands, in an intuitive and reflective process that allows me to include experimentation and acceptance of imperfection as part of the journey towards meaningful discoveries. I work between abstraction and geometry, using a variety of techniques and styles to experiment with composition and texture, in an exploration of visual language as a medium to investigate the possibilities of the minimum elements required to achieve human communication. I seek to capture the essence of human and language evolution as part of my interest in anthropology and linguistics.

Brooke Fitzsimons
WINDOW, 2024
W30 x H40 cm
Oil on linen£600
Brooke begins with a tonal underpainting, building up the colour and the images with many thin, transparent oil-paint glazes. She deliberately sets up formal oppositions: a flat silhouette versus tonal rendering; man-made forms versus natural ones; hard-edge versus soft-focus. Rather than making the painted surface either abstract (all about the painted surface) or figurative (a 'window' into a three dimensional space), her aim is to make the surface appear to be both at the same time; to provoke a 'play' between the two oppositions, so that abstraction and illusion are held in an oscillation, where neither is dominant. In this way, she makes the flat surface of her paintings an active threshold - an equivocal, playful field.

Nikolai Ishchuk
Tan Split (3)
H48 x W40 x D6 cm
Chemigrams on resin-coated paper, watercolor pencil, acrylic, acrylic varnish, mounting tape, fixtures£3,000
Nikolai Ishchuk’s practice uses the physical properties of photographic materials as a technical departure for visual propositions that assimilate painting, drawing, sculpture and architecture. Utilizing grid-based structure, simple lines and curves, and restricted color choices, the compositions seems to project an intention of precision, but, on closer inspection, that is undermined by the unreliable processes through which it is articulated. Underneath the formalism, the work speaks of the difficulty of maintaining fixed categories and holding, however haphazardly, competing forces in an integrated whole.

Still Life 01
H80 x W55 cm
Oil paint on paper and silk mounted on canvas£1,000
“The essence of slapstick is slowness. […] Where verbal wit is an art of sleight, alacrity and surprise, slapstick essays a dogged, Zeno-like decomposition of human actions into their component gestures, so that they seem to last forever.” (Brian Dillon).
This painting belongs to a series of works that explore the links between apparently unrelated fields like slapstick cartoons and still life painting, overlapping strategies such as repetition, collage, editing, layering and the use of everyday objects.

Cotton macrame cord, wood£200
This piece is inspired by DNA. With macrame each small knot I tie becomes part of something bigger and whole, the same way that our DNA is the simple form of everything that makes us complete and unique. The patterns I tied are inspired by the double helix, the structure of which our DNA is made up.

Portland stone, metal£ 3,500
The symbolism of stones is permanence. Every stone holds an extensive past and a connection to the mysteries of the universe. Energy is hidden in stones, and they can give us a deep sense of the world around us. This dense Portland stone comes from the deeper layers of the English Jurassic coast, has stubbornly resisted, yet eventually yielded to take on form and finally found a frame to be seen.

Strength in Serenity
W25 x H5 cm
Jesmonite AC730£60
Strength in Serenity embodies resilience and femininity through simplicity and grace. Rounded and conical shapes symbolise unity and upward growth, crafted in soft pastels with bright neon-marble accents. From these refined forms emerges a spiky, stylised Eryngium, reflecting the protective strength within. The contrast of smooth, simple shapes ending in the prickly flower mirrors the complexity of women: soft yet resilient, graceful yet strong. Hues of lavender and violet, heightened with neon brightness, reinforce this firm relationship, celebrating how women balance strength with delicacy. This modern piece, honours the beauty of complexity within simplicity, mirroring women’s depth and steadfast spirit.

What is a face?
W15 x H20 cm
Fired Rescued Clay from local construction siteNot For Sale
What makes a face is a growing collection of ceramic faces that attempts to highlight how completely different objects can still be seen as a face. Following what now became a signature workshop, Victor started to grow this collection of sculptures, each with their individual features and emotions, but all of them faces. Using clay sourced from construction sites, the surprises do not stop when the sculpting finishes, but only when the piece comes out of the kiln.

Duality of Perception
H60 x W60 cm

"Duality of Perception” explores the contrasting lenses through which we view the world. A chimpanzee is depicted in two halves: one side in striking realism, grounded and serene, while the other bursts with vibrant colours in a playful cartoon style, echoing the whimsy of a wild imagination. The tear through the centre reveals a hidden layer, suggesting the coexistence of these perspectives within us all. This work invites viewers to reflect on their own balance between the steady and the spontaneous, the calm and the chaotic, celebrating the rich diversity of perspectives that shape our lives.
